The Long Wait is Finally Over
As soon as March comes around, the IPL excitement starts to kick in and players from all of the eight competing teams cannot wait to get started. There will be a lot of excitement but a bundle of nerves as well as every team wants to start off their campaign with a win.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore have never won this competition, while the Kolkata Knight Riders have lifted the trophy twice – once in 2012 and another time in 2014. They will both be eager to get off to a flying start so that they can give their fans something to be happy about.
RCB Players to Keep an Eye On
Virat Kohli: If there is one player in the cricketing world that you do not want to see at the crease for a long period of time it is this man. He is widely regarded as the best batsman in the world and the KKR will want to see the back of him as quickly as possible.
AB de Villiers: He might be 36, but he still has the potential to slaughter bowlers, especially in this format of the game. If he comes in to bat with just five overs left, he can up the scoring rate quite considerably.
KKR Players to Keep an Eye On
Eoin Morgan: If you want an idea as to how destructive he can be when he is on fire then you only need to go and watch his innings against Afghanistan at the 2019 World Cup. When he is on fire, you will do very well to get him before he takes the game away from you.
Pat Cummins: Batsmen score the runs, but it is the bowlers that win you a game of cricket. In Cummins, the KKR have one of the best fast bowlers around at this moment in time. We reckon he will cause a lot of issues for the batsmen that have to face him during the tournament.
Who Do We Think Will Win?
When you look at the odds, you can tell that bookies reckon that these two teams are evenly matched on paper. We agree, but we think the RCB will come out on top thanks to their home advantage.
