The 3 best bookmakers to bet with

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have gotten off to a flier with wins over the Mumbai Indians (MI) and the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The Kolkata Knight Riders, on the other hand, won their opening match against the SRH and lost their second match against the MI. The RCB will take on the KKR in the 10th match of this year’s IPL, but who will come out on top?

Read our match prediction and you will find our verdict.

IPL Team Preview: Royal Challengers Bangalore

In a strange coincidence, Virat Kohli has scored 33 from 29 balls in both matches that the RCB have played this season, and he will be hoping to push on and pass at least 50 this time around. At the start of the tournament, we said the RCB rely too heavily on Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Glenn Maxwell to score runs, and this has been the case so far. Maxwell has scored 39 and 59 in the first two matches, while de Villiers scored a rapid 48 from 27 balls in the first match to all but see his side to victory against the MI. Apart from these three players, nobody else has turned up yet, although there is definitely talent there in the shape of Devdutt Padikkal and Washington Sundar. If one or two other batsmen come to the party, then then they are going to post a formidable score. Harshal Patel has been the pick of their bowlers so far, picking up 7 wickets and conceded just 52 runs from the 8 overs that he has bowled. Yuzvendra Chahal has taken a bit of tap, conceding 70 runs and picking up no wickets in the 8 overs that he has bowled, so his place might be under threat. However, we think Kohli will give him another chance to show his quality. In fact, we expect to see the same team play that played against SRH and managed to defend a score of 149.

IPL Team Preview: Kolkata Knight Riders

Nitish Rana has been in scintillating form for the KKR, smashing 800 off 56 balls in their first game and 57 from 47 balls in the second. The RCG will be wanting to get him out early because if he is still there after the powerplay then the KKR will have gotten off to a flier. Apart from some flashes of brilliance from Rahul Tripathi, Dinesh Karthik, and Shubman Gill, there has not been an awful lot else to write home about in the KKR batting department. They have a lot of talent in the form of Andre Russel, Eoin Morgan, and Shakib Al Hasan, but these three players have managed just 35 runs between them in two matches. A bit of panic might start to set in if all three fail once more on Sunday. While Russel has been poor with the bat, he showed the quality that he has with the ball against the MI when he picked up five wickets in two overs to spark a collapse. However, the batting let them down and they still went on to lose the match. With a bowling attack that also consists of the likes of Al Hasan, Pat Cummins, and Harbhajan Singh, they have enough quality to prevent teams from getting away from them, but they are going to keep on losing if half of their batting line-up do not manage to find some type of form soon.

Toss Prediction

At the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, it is believed that the team that bats second has a small advantage of the team that bats first. However, in the first four matches that have been played here in this year’s IPL, the team that won the toss has elected to bat second and only one of them managed to chase down the total that was set. Therefore, we would not be too surprised if the captain who wins the toss decides to break the trend and bat first.

Pitch and Conditions

One of the reasons why teams like to bat second at Chennai is that there is often dew around as the game wears on, which makes it easier for batsmen since the bowlers struggle to hold the ball when it is wet. However, there has not been that much dew around so far, so the captain that wins the toss might not worry about this. The average innings score at this ground has been around 159, so the team batting first will be relatively happy if they can manage 10-15 more runs than that.

Our IPL Betting Tip

We feel that the Royal Challengers Bangalore will make it three wins from three on Sunday mainly because they have more batsmen in form than the KKR. Kohli will know that if his side can get a couple of cheap wickets, then there is a chance that the currently fragile KKR batting line-up will crumble. We think both teams are pretty equal in the bowling department, but on current form RCB edge it in the batting department.
