The 28th match of the 2021 IPL is a clash between the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), both of which sit last and second last in the table. The RR have picked up two wins from six games, while the SRH have only won one game from six. Unless something drastic happens at the top of the table, it is highly unlikely that either of these teams will make it through to the play-offs.

However, they will still have the belief that all is not lost yet, and below we our IPL prediction of who we think will go on to win this game.

IPL Team Preview: Rajasthan Royals

The RR played the Mumbai Indians in their last match and scored 171/4 from their 20 overs, which they probably thought was a decent score. However, the MI chased it down with 9 balls remaining, thanks largely to Quinton de Kock's 70 off 50 balls.

The reason they are where they are in the table is that too many of their batsmen have been inconsistent. For instance, David Miller has scored 95 runs in 6 innings, but his highest score is 62, which means that in 4 innings he managed to score just 33 runs. Then there is England's Jos Buttler, who has scored 130 runs from his 6 innings and has an average of just 21.66. Those who have watched Buttler over the years will know just how destructive he can be, but he is yet to pass 50 so far this season.

Then there is Chris Morris, the most expensive player in IPL history, who has scored 48 runs in 4 innings. His highest score of the competition so far is 36*, which means that in his 3 other innings he has scored a measly 12 runs. The RR probably expected a bit more in the batting department from such an expensive player.

Another reason why they are struggling is that their bowling attack is not all that. Their economy rates are not too bad, but they struggle to pick up wickets, having collect just 29 in 6 matches. If you do not pick up wickets, then you are going to struggle as the opposition will have plenty of ammunition to go gung-ho towards the end of their innings. While he has struggled a bit with the bat, Morris has proved his worth with the ball having picked up 11 wickets in 6 matches with a 17.72 average.

However, the likes of Mustafizur Rahman and Rahul Tewatia have failed to deliver so far, collecting just 6 wickets between them in 39 overs and conceding 354 runs.

IPL Team Preview: Sunrisers Hyderabad

The SRH lost their last match to the Chennai Super Kings and in a strange coincidence, they also scored 171 runs from their 20 overs and saw it chased down with 9 balls to spare. This was thanks to super knocks from Ruturaj Gaikwad (75 from 44) and Faf du Plessis (56 from 38).

The reason why the SRH are propping up the bottom of the table is that they rely too heavily on the likes of Johnny Bairstow, David Warner, and Manish Pandey. their bowling attack, like that of the RR, is bang average. Apart from the likes of Rashid Khan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, their other bowlers would struggle to get into another team in the IPL. We know this sounds harsh, but it is just the truth. Khan has been the pick of the bowlers for the SRH, picking up 9 wickets in 6 matches with an average of 16.44 and an economy of 6.16.

The fact that Warner does not trust his bowlers can be seen from how many changes have been made to the bowling attack over the course of the last 6 matches. They have had 13 players bowl at least four overs in their 6 games to date. If you do not have a consistent bowling attack, then you are going to struggle to win many games, as the SRH have proven so far.

You can tell that Warner is not sure what his best batting lineup is either, since only him and Bairstow have played all 6 matches. They are a team in turmoil, and we do not see them getting off the bottom of the table anytime soon.

Toss Prediction

The captain that wins the coin toss will opt to bat second because there is plenty of dew that falls in the second innings. This will lead to a wet ball and will give the team batting second, a much-needed advantage. Before you go ahead and put your hard-earned money on this match, we suggest you wait to see who wins the coin toss.

Pitch and Conditions

There might be a bit of rain about on Sunday, but it should not be enough to cause any serious disruptions. The groundsmen have been watering the pitch quite a bit to ensure it does not get too dry and spins excessively, meaning that the batsmen should find batting a little easier. The team batting first will be aiming for a score of around 180.

Our Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad IPL Betting Tips

This will be a close game between two teams that are completely out of form, but we think that Rajasthan Royals will go on to win because we feel that their team is a little bit better than the Sunrisers Hyderabad. The RR will know that if they can knock over Bairstow and Warner cheaply then they have a very good chance of getting a much-needed victory.
