The 3 best bookmakers to bet with

The Delhi Capitals (DC) and the Mumbai Indians (MI) have both won two of the three games that they have played in the 2021 IPL. A strong start to the campaign means that both teams are sitting pretty at the top of the table, and they will both want to make it 3 wins from 4 thanks to the rivalry that exists between the two sides. So, who do we think will go on to win? Keep reading and you will find out our IPL prediction for this match.

IPL Team Preview: The Delhi Capitals

The DC have been making a number of odd team selections this year. They have essentially been playing with only 5 batsmen by having Lalit Yadav at 6 and Chris Woakes at 7. Now, no disrespect to these players, as they are capable with the bat, but it really does leave them susceptible if early wickets fall. Shikhar Dhawan is in really good form, but the rest of the batting line-up is not.

Prithvi Shaw has gotten out cheaply in the last two matches, while Steve Smith bats at 3 despite his unconvincing IPL record. Rishab Pant has been really good over the last few months, but with Marcus Stoinis coming in after him he might feel that he cannot really play his natural game. We really think that they should lengthen their batting line up by including Sam Billings for Woakes.

We also think they should add another top-quality Indian bowler such as Ishant Sharma or Axar Patel to improve the team's balance. The DC have a pretty average attack with Kagiso Rabada being their only standout bowler. Avesh Khan has not done too bad, but the likes of Woakes, Yadav, and Lukman Meriwala, while decent bowlers, are not going to give leading batsmen nightmares.

IPL Team Preview: The Mumbai Indians

After losing their game of the tournament, the MI have managed a couple of very good escape thanks to their fantastic bowling attack. Rahul Chahar has been outstanding during the middle overs while Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah have been really good at the death. With Adam Milne and Krunal Pandya playing in their last match, the MI had a really good bowling attack. In the form of Kieron Pollard and Hardik Pandya, they have two other players who are able to chip in with some quality bowling if needed. Their bowling attack has allowed them to defend two average scores at Chennai.

They now need to find a way to get their batting line-up firing on all cylinders. It seems that Rohit Sharma has started to find some form, while Suryajumar Yadav is in his own world at the moment - no other batsman in the tournament has looked as at ease at the crease as he has. Quinton de Kock got some much-needed runs in the last match, and so did Kieron Pollard. However, Ishan Kishan and Pandya are yet to find that big score. While the MI are not that far ahead of the DC when it comes down to batting form, we feel that the MI hold the advantage because of their batting order depth.

Toss Prediction

The team that goes on to win the toss at Chennai will want to bat first. The team that has gone on to bat first in the last 5 games at Chennai have gone on to win the match. Only once has a team won while chasing.

Pitch and Conditions

The conditions you find in Chennai are completely different from those in Mumbai, which is why we feel that the DC will be on the backfoot since they will not have had the time to adapt to a different pitch. The batsmen at Chennai have been able to score runs off the new ball, before the spinners slow down the run scoring. AB de Villiers and Glenn Maxwell showed us that scoring runs in the final overs is possible. A score of about 160 should be considered par on this pitch.

Our Delhi Capitals v Mumbai Indians Betting Tips

The DC do not seem to be using all the resources that they have available to them. This could change in this match, but we can only judge them on what we have seen so far. Their batting line-up depends too much on Dhawan and they do not have batting depth. This is something that the MI do not have problems with. Not only do the MI have a better batting unit, we also feel that they have the best bowling attack in the competition. Another thing that we believe goes in the MI's favour is that they should be used to the conditions, while this is the first game the DC will have played at Chennai this IPL.
