This is the 68th Group Stage match of the Indian Premier League, which, unfortunately means, that the IPL 2022 will soon reach its conclusion. We have been thoroughly entertained by all of the players and, no matter who goes on to lift the trophy, they should all be proud of the show that they put on for cricket lovers across India and the rest of the world. This match sees the Rajasthan Royals take on the Chennai Super Kings, and below is our prediction of who will win the game.

Rajasthan Royals Team Preview

The Rajasthan Royals have had a really good Indian Premier League this year, and they are currently sitting in second place in the table with 16 points to their name. They know that if they go on and win this match, then they will book themselves a spot in the Play-Offs. If they go on to lose, then it could all come down to Net Run Rate, so they will be glad that they have a current NRR of +3.04.

Their last match of the tournament was against the Lucknow Super Giants, and the RR decided to bat first when they won the coin toss. They would have been aiming to put a score on the board of around 170, and in the end they managed to score 178 runs from their 20 overs. Jos Buttler has been in sublime form for the RR this season, but he had a rare failure, falling for 2 from 6 balls.

Yashasvi Jaiswal was the top batsman for the RR in this match, scoring 41 runs from 29 balls, while the likes of Sanju Samson and Devdutt Padikkal chipped in with 32 from 24 and 39 from 18. All of the lower order batsman managed to get into double figures to edge their team beyond their intended target of around 170.

Online cricket betting is really popular nowadays, even among those who do not consider themselves to be huge fans of cricket, and if you are considering doing a spot of cricket betting and want to place bets on the Top Batsman for the RR against the CSK, then who do we recommend you bet on?

Well, there is only one player that we can think of, and that is Buttler. Yes, he has had a few low scores recently, but he has still scored 627 runs in 13 matches at ab average of 52.25. His next closest competitor for the Orange Cap is KL Rahul, and he is still 158 runs behind, with his final Group Stage match being against the KKR on the 18th of May. So, despite his couple of low scores, we would back Buttler to top score for the RR once again.

With 178 runs to defend, the RR bowling unit would have been confident of keeping a talented LSG batting unit at bay, and this is what they managed to do. They reduced the LSG to 29/3 from the first 5.3 overs, and then kept taking regular wickets to ensure that they got the all-important win under their belt. The top scorer for the LSG in this match was Deepak Hooda, who scored 59 off 39 balls. Krunal Pandya and Marcus Stoinis also chipped in with a 25 and 27, but it was not enough.

The pick of the bowlers for the RR was Trent Boult, who picked up a couple of wickets for just 18 runs from the 4 overs that he bowled. Obed McCoy and Prasidh Krishna also picked up 2 wickets, but they were a little bit more expensive. The most expensive bowler on the day was Yuzvendra Chahal, who conceded 42 his 4 overs, giving him an economy of 10.50. However, we can forgive him for that, considering how well he has played throughout the rest of the competition.

If you are going to do some IPL betting on the Top Bowler for the RR, then who do we suggest you bet on? Well, there is one bowler that stands out and that is Chahal. Yes, he was expensive in this game, but in 13 games he has collected 24 wickets at an average of 16.83. He is the current Purple Cap holder, with Wanindu Hasaranga just one wicket behind on 23.

Do we expect any changes to the playing XI for this match against the CSK? Well, after such quality performances for most of the tournament, we do not see the selectors making any unforced changes for this match. Thus, unless there is an illness or an injury, we expect to see the same RR XI that took on the LSG and won.

Chennai Super Kings

While the RR have had a very good IPL to date, the same definitely cannot be said for the CSK. They are destined to finish in 9th spot, having won just four of their 13 games so far. This is not what anyone expected at the start of the competition, with many putting them down as one of the favourites to win the title. However, they are completely out of the running for a Play-Off spot and only have pride to play for now.

Their last match of the tournament was against the Gujurat Titans, and the CSK won the coin toss and decided that they would like to bat first. It was a strange batting performance from them overall and it looked like a number of the players could not even be bothered to play for pride and give their fans something to cheer about. From their 20 overs, they walked their way to a score of 133/5, which was never going to be enough.

The top scorer for the CSK was Ruturaj Gaikwad, who scored 53 from 49 balls, while Moeen Ali scored 21 from 17 and Narayan Jagadeesan finished on 39* from 33 balls. If you want to bet on the Top Batsman for the CSK against the RR at IPL betting sites, then who should you put your cash on?

Well, we would actually be tempted to go for Devon Conway. Yes, he was out for 5 runs in the last match, but prior to that he was scoring runs for fun. He has played in just the 6 matches for the CSK this season, but he has scored 236 runs with an average of 47.20. Thus, with this in mind, we really do think that he is a good bet to be their top scorer in this match. It is not like anyone else is setting the world on fire anyway, is it?

With just 133 runs on the board to defend, we would have somewhat forgiven the CSK bowlers if they decided that they wanted to take the day off. However, to their credit, they at least tried to win the match for their team. The pick of the bowlers for the CSK was Heenatigala Pathiranage, who picked up 2 of the 3 wickets to fall, while only conceding 24 runs from 3.1 overs. Ali picked up a wicket and conceded 11 runs from his 2 overs, while Mitchell Santner conceded only 24 runs from his 4 overs.

If you would like to place an IPL prediction for the CSK Top Bowler against the RR, then who would we recommend you bet on? Well, Dwayne Bravo sat out of the last match, but you should put your money on him to be their Top Bowler if he is playing. In the 10 matches that he has bowled in, he has collected 16 wickets at an average of 18.69. If he is not playing, then maybe you should opt for Mukesh Choudhary, who has also picked up 16 wickets in this competition.

Do we reckon that they will make any changes to their playing XI? Well, our guess is as good as anyone else's. At the end of the day, their competition is all but over, so they could make as many changes as they like. We will have to wait and see what plying XI they decide to pick.

Toss Prediction

For the first week or so of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League, the toss was playing a huge role in determining the side that would go on and win the game and claim the points that are on offer. Thanks to the dew that was about in the evening, the winning captain at the toss usually opted to bowl first, and they would usually win the match 70% of the time.

However, the dew is less of an issue now, and it does not seem to be having such a big impact on proceedings. In fact, the team that has been losing the toss has been winning more than the team that has won the toss. With this in mind, it is hard to make a toss prediction for the remaining matches, but we believe that the captain that wins the coin toss will decide to bat first and try to put a big score on the board.

Pitch Conditions

The 68th game of the tournament will be played at Brabourne Stadium, and the average first innings score at this venue during this year's IPL has been 179, while the average winning total while batting first has been 198. The chasing team has won 47% of the time, which means that there is a slight advantage to batting first - this is why we think the winning captain at the toss will decided to bat first.

The team that is batting first will look for a score of around 170. Yes, we know that the average winning score has been 179, but the pitches are slowing down, so fewer runs will be needed.

Our RR vs CSK Betting Tips

It is safe for us to say that creating a correct match prediction today for the 2022 IPL is not a simple feat since all ten teams can get a win against anyone when they are playing at their best. This match today between the RR and the CSK is one that should be won by RR since they have a lot more to play for and have been playing much better than the CSK throughout the who competition. It would be a surprise to see them lose to the CSK, if we are being honest, which is why this is who we predict will win.
