This prediction is for match 54, where fourth place Sunrisers Hyderabad and sixth place Royal Challengers Bangalore face off at Wankhede Stadium. Both teams are fairly well matched, with the Challengers enjoying six wins from 11 games, and the Sunrisers five from 10 games.

Gaining two points here is crucial, for the Challengers, this will secure their spot in the top half of the table, while for the Sunrisers, will help them squeeze through the congested middle of the leader board. As always, keep reading for our IPL prediction of who will win this match as well as our opinions on top players if you are IPL betting on the match today.

Sunrisers Hyderabad Team Preview

The Sunrisers Hyderabad are coming into this match off the back of three in a row losses. The Delhi Capitals were the last team to hand them a defeat by 21 runs. The Sunrisers won the toss and elected to field first, leaving the Capitals to rack up a challenging total of 207. While the Sunrisers weren’t able to break the 200 mark, they showed a decent effort to get as close as they did.

The Sunrisers had a relatively slow start and lost three wickets of Abishek Sharma (7 off 6), skipper Kane Williamson (4 off 11) and Rahul Tripathi in the first seven overs. By the fall of the third wicket, the score was only 37/3. Things began to look up in the middle order with a great run from Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran. While their efforts were perhaps a little too late, their scores of 42 off 25 and 62 off 34 respectively, at least help to bridge the gap of defeat. Their partnership stitched together a healthy 60 runs, which comes in seventh place for the Sunrisers in the 2022 IPL season so far. Abhishek Sharma and Aiden Markram take the top spot with their 96 run partnership against the Gujarat Titans.

In the death-overs, Shashank Singh, Sean Abbott, Shreyas Gopal, and Kartik Tyagi all were not able to break the 10 run mark, and only managed to add 28 runs to the total from 20 balls between them.

Turning our attention to the bowlers, it wasn’t such a strong show. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Sean Abbott, and Shreyas Gopal all managed to take a wicket. Kumar also got a maiden while conceding 25 runs for the lowest economy at 6.25. Tyagi finished 0/37 after four overs for the only other economy figure under 10 at 9.25. Umran Malik was the most expensive bowler (13.00) conceding 52 runs in his four overs.

We’ll finish with some player statistics that can be useful to know if you are online cricket betting for the match today. Regarding the batsmen, Sharma sits in fifth place in the tournament with 331 so far, while Markran has the best batting average at 76.25. Looking at the stats for the best strike rate, Singh comes out on top with 192.30. On the bowling side, T. Natarajan has taken the third most wickets (17) of the tournament, while Malik holds be best bowling figure (5/25). He is one of only two player to have a five wicket hall this tournament. The best bowling economy goes to Kumar with a figure of 7.17. So, what would be our top batsmen and bowler match prediction today? We would go for Markram and Malik!

Royal Challengers Bangalore Team Preview

The Royal Challengers Bangalore put an end to their three match defeat with a 13 run win over the Chennai Super Kings. As they currently have a negative Net Run Rate of -0.444, they will need to keep this in consideration as their opponents try to rise up the leader board. In comparison to the Challengers, who have a NRR of +0.325, it could come down to the NRR to decide the top four spots in the Play-Offs.

The Challengers got off to an okay start with the openers Virat Kohli (30 off 33) and skipper Faf du Plessis (38 off 22). However, the top order was quickly dismissed in rapid succession. Du Plessis and Kohli currently have had the highest partnership in the squad, of 118 runs.

Good performances from Mahipal Lomror, Rajat Patidar, and Dinesh Karthik kept the momentum high. Lomror finished with 42 runs from 27 balls, Patidar with 21 from 15 balls, and Karthik 26 from 17 balls (not out). Super Kings’ Theesh Theekshana dismissed Wanindu Hasaranga out for a duck.

The bowling unit showed a strong performance, with Shahbaz Ahmed and Glenn Maxwell turning the game around in the Challengers’ favour. Ahmed scored 1/37 in his three overs spell while Maxwell finished 2/22 in his four overs spell. Harshal Patel managed to take three wickets while conceding 35 runs, while Josh Hazlewood grabbed a wicket while conceding 19 runs in four overs for a great economy figure of 4.45.

If you are raring to make your own IPL prediction, check out these player statistics. Karthik currently has a 61.00 batting average and the best strike rate of the team at 189.14, so could be a good contender for the top batsman market. David Willey is currently the fourth most economical bowler of the tournament at 6.54, while Maxwell has a slightly higher economy at 6.92. Hasaranga has taken 16 wickets so far. Our choices would back Maxwell for top bowler.

Toss Prediction

Match 54 is the second afternoon match of the weekend. While the threat of dew is lower than in the evening matches, the captains may still want to stick to the

The Sunrisers Hyderabad have been incredibly luck and won the toss nine times out of ten, each time electing to field first. When the Sunrisers were invited to bat first by the Gujarat Titans in match 40, they were not able to defend their score successfully. The six times the Royal Challengers Bangalore have won the toss, the captain chose five times to field first. The Challengers have also decided to bat first during an afternoon match, however, they were not able to defend their score.

For our toss prediction it could be possible that the Challengers feel confident to bat first again, if they won the toss, however, for the Challengers, we think it’s likely they will stick to their previous decisions and bat second.

Pitch Conditions

Although all the pitches are starting to show some signs of wear and tear, we can still expect to see some bounce at Wankhede Stadium. This wicket is made of red-soil which typically is less elastic and can dry out sooner than black soil pitches. So far, the top score of the tournament is 222 which was scored here between the Rajasthan Royals and the Delhi Capitals. The average first inning score at Wankhede is 170.3, with an average first innings winning score of 187.7. A defending score around 190-200 should give the squad some confidence. The ‘real-feel’ temperature is forecasted to be 46C with 66% humidity.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad have only played one match on the Wankhede wicket and scored their highest total in the tournament to date. They reached 195 against the Gujarat Titans, giving them an average of 9.75 runs per 6 balls. The Royal Challengers Bangalore have played at Wankhede twice in the IPL 2022 scoring 189 and 173 for an average of 185.5. The average runs per six balls was 9.45 for their higher total and 9.02 for their lower total.

Our SRH vs RCB Betting Tips

So, who do we predict will win? It looks like the Royal Challengers Bangalore are back on their feet. Both teams know what it’s like to have a three match losing streak, and as we near the end of the group stages, it’s becoming all the more important to get the points coming in. If the Sunrisers manage to get the win here, it would certainly spice up the leader board with many teams clustered around the 10/12 point mark. All we know is that we’re set for a great afternoon of cricket, whether you are simply spectating or placing a wager at the IPL betting sites, hopefully we are treated to some memorable cricket moments!
