The West Indies have been on a tour of India, and it is fair to say that it has not gone to plan so far. They lost the One Day series 3-0 and lost the opening match of a three-match T20 cricket series, meaning that they now need to win the second game in order to keep the series alive. Will India manage to claim the series with a game to spare, or will the West Indies force a decider? This is our prediction of who will win.

India Team Preview

After their impressive showing in the ODIs, the Men in Blue began the T20Is series with a bang, picking up a relatively comfortable six wicket win to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

India batted second in this match and were chasing 158 in order to win the game, and the back of this total was broken by the opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan, who put on a partnership of 64 for the first wicket. The former was the more impressive batsman out of the two, scoring 40 runs from just 19 balls. Kishan, it must be said, struggled a bit, scoring 35 from 42 balls, and he will be hoping to be more fluent in the second match.

They did have a little wobble in the middle overs, losing three wickets for just 11 runs, but then Suryakumar Yadav entered the arena and smashed 34 off 18 balls to help see his team home. Venkatesh Iyer also chipped in with a handy 24 runs from 13 balls.

If you want to do some online cricket betting and want to put money on the player that you think will go ahead and score the most runs for India, then we would, once again, recommend that you put your money on Sharma. We expect to see just as much fluency and big-hitting from him in this second match.

The majority of the West Indies batsmen just did not get going in their innings, and this was thanks to some quality bowling from Ravi Bishnoi, who not only took two wickets, but he also only went for 17 runs from the four overs that he bowled. Not a bad debut if you ask us. Bhuveneshwar Kumar also bowled well, picking up a wicket in the first over of the match and only conceding 31 runs.

If you want to bet on the Top Bowler for India at your favourite cricket betting sites, then we would suggest that you put your money on Bishnoi. He bowled really well in the first match on debut, and we would not be at all surprised if he was to put in another great performance once again against this India cricket team.

When it comes to changes, we do not see India changing a winning team, so we expect to see the same XI that won the first match.

West Indies Team Preview

The West Indies would have entered this match with quite a bit of confidence under their belt after their 3-2 win against England in their last series, but they just never got going in this game and struggled with the pace of the pitch. It is safe to say that Nicholas Pooran, who scored 61 from 43 balls which included five sixes and four fours, was the only West Indian batsmen who got to grips with the surface. Kieron Pollard would probably argue that he did too since he had a cameo of 24 runs from 19 balls.

The West Indies bat deep, so the Indian bowlers were probably waiting for an all out assault further down the order, but that did not happen. The West Indies lost wickets at regular intervals and managed to limp to 157 runs from the 20 overs that they had.

If you want to make some type of cricket match prediction for this game other than the result of the match, then we suggest that you go for the Top Batsman for the West Indies. If you decide to do this, we suggest that you put your money on Pooran to top score once again, since the second match will be played at the same venue.

When it comes to the West Indies bowling attack, Roston Chase was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up two wickets for 14 runs from the four overs that he bowled. Romario Shepherd also bowled pretty well as he only went for eight runs per over, which is decent in the T20 World.

Like with India, we do not think that the West Indies will make any changes to their playing XI for this match.

Toss Prediction

Sharma won the toss in the first match and decided to field first because dew was expected in the second half of the match, and he was right to do so. The Indian bowlers definitely had the better of the conditions on the day, so we expect that the captain that wins the toss this time around will opt to field first as well.

Pitch and Conditions

The weather is set to be fair, so there should be no interruptions to the game on that front. When it comes to the wicket, the track is not really hard to bat on, but there is quite a bit of assistance for the spinners as was shown by the success that Bishnoi and Chase had. If the batsmen play these two spinners well, then they can take advantage of the faster bowlers and notch a decent score. The team that bats first will want a score of about 170, we reckon.

Our Match Prediction

The West Indies do have the firepower to trouble the Indian bowlers, but do we think that they are going to perform to the ability that we all know they have? With four losses from four games, we think that their confidence will be dented and many of them will just be looking forward to going home.

Our match prediction: India to win.
